You can go buggy and still keep the cab area. You can even trim down the cab as much as possible. My cousin works at a custom car shop that 'chops' the windshields of older cars. You can do something like that......that could be cool!

Here's something similar to what I'm thinking-

Except I want 4 seats & Coils in the rear. If you can name this rigs owner, I'll give you gold star!

It's not a ground-up 'Buggy,' so what is it? A Tuggy? Truggy??

Did you see the toy thats tubed in fourwheeler(july issue I believe). The green one. The guy works at randy's ring and pinion.

Left the stock windshield, firewall, floor and hood.
Looks damn good.

Did it used to be Yellow and Orange? Is it an early 80's truck?

I am with kilf on this one. K.I.S.S.

does a buggy perform any better than an exo....arguably not.

you will still run the same suspension and drivetrain so just toss a simple exo-cage on it and wheel it. You always have the option to go all out and gut the thing later. If you maintain street legality, you can always switch to offroad tags...BUT YOU CANNOT GO BACK according to the dmv up here in ogden. Once you license it as an offroad vehicle, it is irreversable.

I do like that design, but you lose the four seater option with it that way.

I say cut the back of the cab, roof and build a cage/exo/tube bed.

Thanks Jeremy, there's some good ideas there. I do want to keep the Grill, Hood and some of the Fenders so it looks like a Toyota, but I do like the 4 Seater design.

$800 isn't bad either! If I didn't have the bender already, I'd probably just buy one of those. It blows me away what people can do these days..... $800 :shaking head:

I'm leaning toward Buggy, rather than Exo.... :D

he can get that price because he has access to a bling bling CNC bender. I think he said he could crank out like 6-8 of those a day. He and Camo are trying to get a Spec class going in rockcrawling. You know, everybody in the same rig. There aim was for pre-EFI Toy trucks as a base chassis.

That would be killer, kinda like the SCCA racing series (and any sanctioned race, really....)

I could see them doing quite well with their venture. Banging out 6-8 a day @ $800 ea. = $4,800-$6,400 a day!!
