Update

Well, its getting close to being done. However, the Jeep is actually looking more "torn-apart" than ever before.

Also, when it comes to completely wiring a rig and plumbing fuel and brake lines, it doesn't make for great progress pics, ya know?

Until I can get some better progress pics, here's one of the PCM clamp (just inside of the driver side fender, under the hood).

Sweet PCM clamp. Looks like I may need to buy another bracket from you. :)

I had to gut his factory jeep regulator, which was WAY harder than I thought it would be, but it's all done now and she runs!

Pics of completed tube work and everything else they've done

If the remaining work goes well I'll have the Wrangler in my possession next weekend and I'll post a full update of the changes, perhaps some video of it running/driving.

I have some work to do before it's trail-ready; Bend & weld rocker tubes, paint bare steel, wire & plumb ARB, wire brake lights, get it registered, etc. It's all simple stuff, so hopefully I can get on the trail shortly after getting it.

Greg, when you get it up and running, we need to hit up a trail!!! Just keep me informed!:greg:

Well, the Wrangler is back from Ben Hanks Racing after a long to-do list. I had a few minor things I need to finish once I got it back and it's not quite done yet, but the Jeep runs & drives and the 4WD system is now operational. I took it out for a drive this morning and found an unloading dock to test things out.

Ben Hanks Racing did some incredible work, the fabrication is top-notch. Everything they did is well thought out and done right. The roll cage is a work of art... it's simple, but looks good and will be plenty strong when the Jeep eventually rolls over. The plumbing, wiring and a few extras that we added turned out quite well, wait until you see the RME cutout! :greg:

I'm very pleased with the TeraFlex LCG suspension, it rides great around town and flexes incredibly well. The long-arms work well and even with the vehicle flexed up, it's not anywhere near unstable. I do need to add a S/T Dual Rate anti-swar bar for driving around town, I'll order that Tuesday. The 5.3l V8 engine, TH350 transmission with a full-manual valve body with 2000 RPM stall is a perfect balance. Even with the 4.3 low range of the Atlas transfer case, the final gearing is great. It will crawl along, but needs throttle to climb. No problem with crawling thru the brakes.

The Blue Torch rocker guards, comp. cut corners, grill hoop and winch plate all add beefy protection the Jeep will need while offroad.

Anywho, enough of that... onto the pics!

Thanks Caleb! I'm happy with how it's turned out so far. It's just what I was going for, I love how low it is!

In the future it's going to get a burnt orange paint job, then some RME graphics on the doors and hood.

Looks way good! Nice job!

Thanks!

should paint that piece of steel with the logo an offset color :)

I'm going to leave it black for now, once the Jeep get painted Burnt Orange, like mentioned above, it'll stand out.

Looks good! I like the low center of gravity.

Thank you, it's quite stable even without any antisway bar... I just slid the rearend around on pavement with wet tires and it wasn't too scary.

That thing is sweet. Will next weekend in Moab be the inaugural run?

This weekend hopefully... I'm a day late, but planning on going down, even with an opened front diff. We're going to the BBQ tonight and then we'll be wheelin' the Jeep on Sunday and Monday.

There's still some stuff that needs to be done, the front ARB isn't hooked up and I need some more parts to make it work. I need to install the rear bump stops, currently the shocks are stopping up travel. I'm going to powdercoat the bare steel parts, then paint over that eventually. I want to fab a skidplate for the oil pan and the transmission pan, since they're both aluminum.

I love it:cool: I really like the cage, simple and functional, and it doesn't look like a jungle gym. I should have BHR do mine when I'm ready (read get the money). Very cool Greg:greg:
