If it is to me Shawn I do wheel and would like to go wheeling with you anytime. I wasn't trying to say how badass my Jeep is because it isnt(It is fairly fast though). I do not think of this hobby as a competition, I was only trying to say that I beleive it would be a waste to spend money on a 2.5. Things like throtle bodies and exhaust upgrades are worthless when the number and size of the pistons and the head is what is really limiting airflow. I can beleive that a blower would make a difference but any thing else is only going to make microscopic differences.

I have wheeled with some menbers on this board and some more than others.

Don't think your sheet is great until you bring it out to play with others.

now that I go back over the post I think I know who this is directed at (if its directed toward anyone in particular:p) and its not bobdog:D:D:D

"there is NO subtitute for cubic inches"

This is a phrase used in ALL types of motorsports.

there is a lot to be said in how hard you have to make your cubic inches work also. Your mechanical device has operating parameters that have to be observed. If you are trying to get the most out of your cubic inches, you end up moving out of a reliable set of parameters leading to premature wear or catastrophic failure.

you can tweak out just about any motor to get torque and horsepower displayed by a bone stock 350 chevy, but how long will that motor last....

I can get that out of a zuk motor if I have titanium everything running 3 turbos, 3 superchargers, nitrous and alcohol.....but it woudn't last long....

these are drastic examples of engines but we are going for power and reliability in this sport. we don't live our lives 1/4 mile at a time:p :p

Good points Spence. I have a ford small block in mine, but if I did it over agin, I would put the GM 350 in there. I LOVE my motor, but the 350 is just so much cheaper, available, supported. Dollar spent per horsepower is an unbelievable ratio when talkin Chev 350.

The problem I see with doing a small block chevy, is if I was to do that, then I would have to swap axles and all that shiznit. I am just looking to give myself a little extra umph!:D

BTW, GMC has a concept motor that is a PLASTIC composite 1600cc that puts out 900 HP :D :D :D :D

you are gonna do all that eventually right.....if you aren't too hard on it, you wont have to change your axles out right now.

we know you are just looking to make it breathe a little better so just do the filters and a more free flowing exhaust. that is about all ya got!! If you can get away with no cat convertor, ditch that too.....but it looks like you live in an emissions county.

Yeah I don't feel like paying out my nose for a motor swap until my motor dies.

research, research research. Like Spence said, filters, exhaust. Just don't invest too much in what you have. There are MANY people on this board who have been exactly where you are, and have very good advice on what they would do. Save your money and do it right the first time and be done... research.
