i was looking at my xj the other day and noticed that my motor and tranny mounts are gone, im going to replace them soon but ive never delt with bushings like this so my question is do i spend the extra money and go with polyurethane or just keep them stock? ive heard that going with polyurethane is a lot stronger but you will also get a lot more engine noise... is this true?

Go with Mountain Off-Road Enterprises Bomb proof motor mounts. I put them in my XJ (when I had it) about 10 years ago and I'm still using the exact same ones for mounts in my buggy (previous and new build).
I don't remember them being so expensive but they have certainly been worth it! They also use rubber (clevite) bushing instead of poly.

Brown Dog uses poly bushings, and I couldn't find any at ironman offroad.
I was surprised at the cost. Honestly I wouldn't have paid that much way back when I got them so I'm betting they were way under that. Who knows.
They would be pretty easy to DIY as well. Just have to source the tube (2.25" ID) and the spacers.
thanks everyone for your help and opinions, i want to go with those M.O.R.E mounts but they are expensive although im one of the people who believe in you get what you pay for.

went with more's 2 years ago on my xj and put some on my buddie's xj about a year ago as well. wouldn't do it any other way. brown dog makes nice stuff but yeah they are poly and you'll get even more vibes. their engine side mounts are sick though, it's crazy but people really break them.

brown dog actually has choices, you can get either poly or rubber, i run the rubber and for the price it was well worth it.

the ironman ones are 88 Durometer. So pretty soft compared to energy suspension "red" style poly mounts.
