Buying steel locally?

I searched through about a dozen threads on steel here on RME and most were really old. The newer threads under 2 years old seemed to indicate that Triple-S-Steel was the place to go locally for steel?

I'm looking for 1.75" .120 DOM, 2x2 .250 , 2x4 .250, 2x3 .250, 3x6 .188 and a strips of 3/16" and 1/4" and some plate.

Ideas? I'm fine with going to multiple places if the price difference is right between the materials I'm looking to pickup.

Thanks guys!

^that's what I do as well. SSS has their remnant stuff indoors unlike Wasatch. Midnight's prices for DOM are usually good

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm going to head over to Tripple-S and rummage through their scrap pile and I'll order the DOM I need from midnight. Does midnight give discounts for larger orders? Just wondering if I should get a few people to do a group buy.

So I just got a quote from Tripple-S and everything she (Stephanie) quoted me is in the .71-.80 a pound range. That sounds high to me but I haven't purchased anything in a few years. Thoughts? I still need to call midnight and a few other places like wasatch and metalmart.

Edit: Mark at metalmart was quoting me super high pricing. The left below is Triple S, pricing on the right is metalmart. Interestingly enough metalmart's website has some of that stuff for half of what the dude quoted me over the phone. I HATE buying steel. Call the same place three times and you'll get three drastically different prices quoted.

2x2 .250 ( 3.75/ft) (3.88/ft)
3x2 .250 ( 4.93/ft) (5.75/ft)
4x2 .250 ( 6.12/ft) (6.83/ft)
6x3 .188 (7.44/ft) (8.58/ft)
4" wide strip 3/16" (1.85/ft) (1.85/ft)
4" wide strip 1/4" (.2.62/ft) (2.30/ft)

I'll also need 1.75" .120 DOM, 1.75" .250 DOM, 2" .250 DOM, etc. I'm going to total everything up and call some friends to see if they want to make the order larger, then I'll call midnight and see what they can do.

Edit 2: Popped by Tripple-S and checked out their scrap pile. Pretty decent amount of stuff to look through. I was able to pick up about half what I needed at .59/lb and since I didn't have to pay for as much material it ended up being reasonable.
