cadi calipers

In my new setup, I'm using Cadi calipers in the rear. However, new they do not come with any linkage to connect them to cables or etc. I have come across some aftermarket ones, but can't find them again. Anyone know of where I can get them so I can get my e brake hooked up?? I either need this or I need to go with a line lock because I can't park my rig in the driveway as it will roll down (steep drive) and I can't keep it in the street...

The calipers you have don't have the levers on them? If that is the case, the only way I know of to get them is from a wrecking yard....

Wayne, neither option will be good in my opinion. The Line Lock should only be used to a short time from what I've read. I've got Caddy Calipers and they have never held good enough to hold on any incline with 36" tires. Everywhere I've read online says they work good for the small tires on a Caddy but not for 35"+ tires. I have some ideas how to improve mine but I still don't expect much from them. I wish I kept drums on the rear most of the time:-\ My brake nightmares would have been virtually non existent, but the Hydroboost has fixed all of those problems:)

I'll use the line lock to keep it stopped. If it becomes a problem using it for an extended amount of time, then I'll have to find a plan B. The ebrake I'll use to keep it legal. :D

Hydroboost will do me no good in a stopped condition. I dont' have ANY problems with locking up these 39" tires, even at 40 mph and on pavement. COntrol comes in as an issue (with no swaybars), but not stopping. I even had a panic stop on the freeway from 75 mph. It really fished around, but I did not have any problem stopping!

Also remember that if you leave a line lock engaged, it is drawing a current off the battery.

Actually isn't engaged (parked) with no juice and not engaged (able to drive) requires juice? At least that's how the line locks I've been familarized with work, and hoping this is the same way!

Electric linelocks use juice when they are locked. You could put a manual valve in for a parking brake, and use the electric ones for cutting.

Yep, what Meat said. I left mine on my buggy on over night one time and it was dead the next day.

Not what I was wanting to hear...:-\ I don't understand why it would be that way. I'm sure it spends more time locked than un locked, so why have it powered most of the time. This sucks.

Who has 'em powered most of the time? The intended application is for drag racing, to hold you steady at the start line (thus the Line Lock), then kick it off when it's time to blow the doors off the minivan you're racing.

My intended use would have been to leave it on while my rig was parked in my driveway for several days between use....

They use juice when they are on Wayne, move along.

Buy a manual valve and put that on the main line to the rear, then put an electric line lock on each side in the back. You can leave the manual valve on for a long time, but it doesn't count for the secondary braking system that you need to pass saftey.

I ran across this about Caddy calipers, don't know how true it is though

Yeah, I knew that about these... The only reason I am using them is for the parking brake feature to stay legal in case I ever need to do a safety inspection.

As for the 'adjustment', I can take a 11/16" (IIRC) and work the nut back and forth. It's not as important as they expressed in that write up, but it does need to be done. When I first put them on, I had no peddle and could not bleed the system. I worked that 'adjuster' a few times and got lots of peddle and was able to bleed them. I haven't 'adjusted' them since, and that was about 1100 miles ago.
