Camera Problems

I have a 98 pentax ZX 10 camera. The shutter is getting stuck and not allowing it to take any pics. Tried cleaning it. Tried manual settings and nothing worked. I just found out the problem when I arrived in Maui 2 weeks ago and could not use the dang thing. Anybody out there know of a good shop in Salt Lake to take it too? I was told by a guy in Maui that if it cost more than a $100 to fix to sell the thing.

Howells on 2nd South just west of West Temple is about it in SLC. But ussually it is best to send them to the manufacture for service....

Had the same problem on my ZX10, took it to a place in SLC (may have been Howells) several years ago and they fixed the problem, every now and then I get a bad pic (shutter doesn't open all the way)...

thats sucks, I found out about my camera problems after I had arrived in Cancun for a week and a half stay...a lot of the time its not worth it to have it fixed cause you can usually buy a nicer camera for less than the repair...

Thanks for the info, I will call Howells and Pentax and see if they can give me a repair estimate.
I used several of the disposal camera's with some ok results but I couldn't zoom in on anything. I also used a disposable underwater camera with good results at 80 feet down.
