An ugly tree stump came out and bit my sidewall in BFE last week. Can this be fixed? And of coarse it was the first hill of the first day:mad2:
Thanks Josh

For "offroad use only" it can be patched. But you will have a hard time finding a shop that is willing to do it. I have been told it is illegal to run any tire (single wheel) on the road that has a side wall patch.

They call it sectioning. You'll need to find a tire shop that does it. It's not cheap so if the tire is worn it's not worth the cost. They're real hard to balance afterward.

To bring this thread to life again I found a guy selling some nice tires but one has a side wall puncture....how safe is this repair and can I run it on the street?

I was able to get my sidewall repaired. I would not run it on street unless there was some emergency. The repair on my (damaged tire) spare bulges at the patch but holds air. After a couple of SLC shops turned me down for fear of liability. There is a tire shop behind the IFA and Chevy dealer in Heber I would recomend these guys to anybody that needs a good tire shop. Especially for any random sidewall puncture
