A small group is headed to the Maze area of Canyon Lands at Thanksgiving.

The Maze area is west of the Colorado River betweek Goblin State Park and Halls Crosing at Lake Powel.

The trail we are taking is an "easy" trail (stock 4X4 OK). We will be leaving SLC on Friday Nov. 28th in the AM. Plan is to drive to the Maze Overlook and camp out (will be cold at night).

Saturday is a hike to the "Harvest Scene" in Barrier Canyon (all day affair).

Sunday some will head back to SLC. Others may go to the Doll House or Horseshoe Canyon and return on Monday (harder 4 X 4) me! :D

The MAXIMUM party size is two (2) groups of three (3) vehicles for a total of 6.
Patrick is leading Group 1 (2 spots open).
Dean is leading Group 2 (2 spots open).

You must RSVP with me to go on this group outing.

The Maze is something not to miss. If you want a good hike, hike from the Standing Rock or Chimney rock campground out the the harvest panel and then back. GOOD long hike.
Going out the the Dollhouse is cool. As is hiking out in the maze itself. I went out there last June, and have been itching to get out there again. Unfortunatly, I can't get out there again until next year.
But the Flint Trail is fun in a SWB truck.

BTW. We got 2 stock 1997 4Runners out the the Dollhouse. It's really not that extreme.

Wow............fond memories of our trip into the doll house. What a trip that was!!!!!! Almost lost a jeep over the side at the bottom of the Flint Trail in a thunderstorm in the bentonite clay (read: greased snot)......chocolate waterfalls, pink lightening, 5 gallons of water spilled inside my rodeo.........good times.
