Anyone on RME deal in carpet? I need a ~8'x8' piece for my office. Looking for something low-shag (no shag) and gray. Something you would expect in an shop office. Just enough that it can be vacuumed and absorbs some noise. I don't want any mat underneath, just carpet over the cement. Do I glue it?

Any recommended vendors or install techniques?

How about the carpet "tiles" that are self-adhesive? They're pretty industrial, and can be replaced in pieces obviously.

Otherwise, for actual carpet, (or maybe even the tiley stuff) check with Chicky.

Chicky does deal with commercial carpet tiles FWIW. She's currently working on a 25,000 square foot job.

I'm replacing all the carpet in all my stores right now. The existing carpet is 2' squares, I think. It's gray, and some of it is in decent shape (we're going to a new color/pattern). I wonder if I could salvage some for you...

Hmm, I didn't even realize commercial carpet was in tiles, that would likely work even better? I've been in Verizon plenty of times and never noticed it, this is small enough and will be crowded with a desk and such, tiles would be fine.

I've checked out the bulk carpet they have at Home Depot but I'll have to go down there and check out some tile, looks like they might stock a single color.

I got enough to carpet the basement studio (same idea, to insulate from the cold in my case hahah) from a carpet place for about $100, takeout carpet. That's roughly... 800sq.ft. I just asked for "old carpet they were throwing out", some parts of mine look like sh*t but they're covered with painting supplies and books anyway. :D

If you only need a small piece like your 8x8', I'm 100% sure they can deal with you. You might be able to get edges whipped for next to nothing too.

Good luck. And go to sleep!

I have used Wards Discount Carpets on 90th and just west of I-15. They get lots of remnants and last of the roll stuff. Very fair.
