Cat Canyon, seeks revenge

Sunday, Myself, Meat, Timpanogos, met up with Scoutabout, Eric, Justin and Layne to run Cat canyon, I had heard that this winter had torn it it up a bit with some runoff, and I was right. It was considerably harder then the 2 times I had been there before. Carnage lists goes: Meat-busted 3 leaves, radiator hose, hydro assist line, t case skid, and a blown bead. Layne (Red Rover) Lower control arm let loose, taking out the other side bent and tore the pinion right off and busted a shock, both rock sliders smashed up so you couldn't open the doors, 1 blown bead. Justin(silver Rover) 2 hubs broke, 1 slashed tire. Eric(brown 4runner) cracked front drive shaft yoke, clamped back togther with hose clamps, which some how allowed him 4 wheel drive the whole way out  Myself-nothing:greg: The other were passengers.

Crazy time though, lots of fun, but lots of time down with break downs. Good fun and good company though.

Oh the carnage was great! Good times. Eric, Justin, Lane and I were on Chainsaw the day before. Eric blew out his rear driveshaft. We got some exhaust pipe from a local shop, and welded it up over at Craig Stumph's house. It held!! Big thanks to Craig for being so nice to a group of yahoos showing up at his house on Saturday afternoon.

Here are all the pics I took:

Tons of fun

Turns out the middle two leaves have been cracked since I hopped it bad on Rusty Nail in May, and the axle wrap I got from trying to pull Justins bumper THROUGH the rock finished them off. After looking at the other side I'm pretty sure that at least one leaf is cracked there as well.
I pushed the inner bead off during the same pull that broke the leaves.... I didn't even notice it.

I'll post some pics tomorrow....

This area is incredibly beautiful. Meat, Eric and I were treated to a fantastic sunset on the way off the top, with a full moon escort home … on top of the intense day of action, fun and friends.

This area is a definite do-over

I must say, I'm glad I sat this one out (not much choice). Looks like good pics and good fun either way. Delta will have to wait until the 40s are on.

Now, help me get these friggin axles out of the back of my truck:D

Tie them to your Jeep and drive away. Make sure to open your tailgate first.

So Steve, why are there no pictures of the Scout:confused: Looks like a long day on Cat. Doesn't look like it has changed much since the last time we were out there.

So the appointment I had to skip this trip to be here for was a $@!$%(&!#@ waste of time. Nobody wants to pay, but they want "a really nice handmade frame, with some carving on it". !#)(*&#$@#!!~

Looks like I missed some good times!

I'm getting pretty close to doing that. I was plasma cutting the springs and all the extras off them last night......in the back of my truck:rofl:

I think it lost 200LBS already
