Anybody have any connections with someone that owns a chassis dyno that we could use ? We are looking to test a new performance product for jeeps.

but I believe he is looking for one that will measure HP and torque #'s.
Well I wondered, I just have never heard it call a chassis dyno...

Well there are basically 2 different types of dyno's that i know of for testing HP and torque. One you have to pull the motor and the other (chassis dyno) you just strap the car down. We need some numbers on some of our new throttle body spacers

There are few "import" focused shops that have dyno's that I know of:

Modern Garage/Cobb Tuning: 4677 s. Cherry st.(440 w.) 262-4605 <<<<<have an all wheel drive dyno or 4 wheel drive, hehe

Phantom Motorsport: 8169 s. State st. Midvale 255-3440

Please post up some realistic numbers. Rubicon Express is claiming 15HP which is bull. We made a few of these two years ago and IMO they are just noise makers for Jeep's. I had one mounted for a few months and all it did was annoy me. After talking to some perfomance specialists the only gain you get is at wide open throttle. Think about this a minute, you are opening up the bore and creating a new butterfly plate. Air will still flow the same rate, maybe at different angles on the plate but tha same rate untill it's wide open, here you gain the added bore size. Now I don't know how you drive off-road but most folks don't drive wide open. So now you added more air to the motor, now what, you really need an exhaust system to get a benefit to this added air.

Like I stated above I just want to see some realistic dyno results. We spoke to Christian @ Modern Garage and he was willing to dyno them for us two years ago, I'm sure he will help you set it up. As for our test we opted to not do it, and not produce 4.0L whistles.

Well, I'm done ranting. I just had to post my 2 cents.

Ok, let me put my foot in my mouth. It just hit me that you said throttle body spacers. I was talking about bored out throttle bodies. Sorry for the rant. I am still interested to see what numbers the spacers produce. Like I said Rubicon Express claims 15 hp with there billet throttle body, I am fairly sure this is b.s.

ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS, i'm going to check that out, that would be awesome when tuning subarus or even testing out hp and torque diffences when in 4wheel, two wheel, 4lo, etc. etc. Heck i might even appy for work. Oh coarse my auto skills are too few and far between, hey you gotta start somewhere.
