i have an 84 cj7 and was wondering if there was any info on putting a different engine into it? newr 6 or some kind of deisle? is there any one who know more about it here in Utah?

I just put a 99 4.0 TJ motor into my 84 cj8. I used a 93 XJ fuel rail, injectors, wiring and computer that was easier to make work in the 84. If you want to come see it and discuss what it takes let me know. The 4.0 uses the stock 6 cylinder motor mounts and bolts right up to the older drive trains. I even have a 4.0 in the garage for sale. I'm in Salt Lake City.

I have seen conversions to a cummins 4bt deisel. Just like the 6 cilinder in the dodge trucks with two cilinders chopped off. In 6 months I should know more as that is what I am going to attempt.

Well the motor i have is original but still runs well just under powered and cant be expected to run for ever. i have about a year to prepair for this change i just want to learn more about it before i commit to any direction. thanks for the info
