I have posted this before but lets see how those eyes work.
Can you see the bottom line?

Is it just me or does anyone else get nervous at the thought of Lasik? It send chills down my spine. I know its supposed to be safe and many people have had great success with it, but I think I'll stick with glasses for the foreseeable (ha! Unintended pun!) future.

Yep, I am in that group. And what worried me, but it makes sense why. is that in the middle of the procedure all you can see is black and loss of vision. But a sucessful Lasik surgury would change my life for the better, so I am really thinking about it too. I just want them to put me into sleepy land before they start.

I am nervous for the same reasons.

I had eye surgery when I was a kid and I am really freaked out about eye stuff. Glasses work juuuuuust fine, no halos, no chance of blindness, etc etc.

And if it happens, it happens to ME, so don't give me that "0.0001%" crap. :D

Yeah, I guess I am. I won't even wear contacts (not that I really can with astigmatism) because I hate having stuff in my eyes.

Come on now, both my eyes have astigmatism's and I wore contact's for year. ;) Then I got lazy and just started wearing my glasses. :brett:

The thought of having something slice my eye scares the s*** out of me. If my eyes go bad I have to say glasses will be the way I go. Hell I have a hard time putting in eye drops, that is how big of a sissy I really am.

I did it 6 years ago, no Valium. Wish I'd had it though, just because it was offered. Plenty of info before and during, and got to see the person before me being done. Only two things they didn't explain beforehand. The Cutter vibrated, which was a surprise to me. And the smell of burning flesh when the laser did its part. I SHOULD have expected that...

6 years later, I am considering a revision to correct the astigmatism I didn' have beforehand. Otherwise. I'm happy, love it, glad I did it... I don't hold back anything when people ask about the procedure. I know I didn't want to look at a computer screen that evening, or even most of the next day. Scratchy itchy eyes. DROPS are your friends!

Cody, hope it went well!

I'm not supposed to be on the computer....naughty me.

Had it done this morning. I was feeling pretty mellow, so I declined the valium (not a big fan of prescription drugs). I was cool until they put the crazy eye holder-openers and suction gizmo on. Once my vision blacked out, I got pretty nervous and I had to really concentrate on being the cucumber (as in "cool as a"). It probably only took 5 minutes max in the laser room, which doesn't sound like a long time but it felt like a long time.

After about 20 minutes post op, my eyes were starting to burn a little and were super sensitive to light. I finally made it home and was able to lay down. A few hours later the burning went away and the sensitivity isn't bad. My left eye's vision is very crisp, but the right is not quite as good. They should improve for the next couple weeks, but even if they stay how they are I'm perfectly happy.

Thanks for thinking of me guys! I'll be back taking cheap shots at people in no time!

I just went in for a post op appointment. My right eye is near perfect, no discomfort, see great. The right eye has DLK and is much more blurry today. I have to do more steroid drops in it to try and get it to clear up, but if it doesn't they'll have to lift the flap and remove the inflamed cells. It's not too big of a deal, and is probably the most common side effect. It will keep me from seeing perfect for the next week or so, but shouldn't effect me long term.
