I have experiance building 3 and 4 link coil suspentions.... I have helpd build a few... The only problem was figuring out spring rates and you can kinda guess on that by finding vehicles with springs that weigh close to the same as the rig you are building...

I know the costs of the suspention parts (No worms here). I just have never priced out coil overs themselves.... Pluse I have never figurd out spring rates this way....lol. I guess thats where the worms come in..... That is why I am actually going to do some research. I figured this is a good place to start.....

...just my experience.........one corner..............sway-away shock body( $250.00).........coil kit ($100.00).........2 coils ($80.00)......4 heims ($136.00)..... 4 tube adapters ($50.00)....tubing ($20.00)......8 tabs ($40.00)........well you get my point....:D

Boy my wife thinks im spending 5000 on all of what im doing.....
This will probably only build my front 60, rear 14 bolt, and buy wheels and tires..... I might be able to squeeze in the links for the suspention into this price also lol.....
Guess I better not let her see this thread and find out I might be spending 1,600 on coilovers as well....
:D :D :D :D
If you read this TJjeep junkie Im in the same boat as you now with your wife and the dyna trac 60's lol....
I wont tell if you dont...

Ya like I said I have the suspention parts figured out. (Im gonna try using raidus bushings not heims if they suck then i will convert over).
I will build all my mounts and so forth down at Jeepers so the brackets and stuff are cost of mettle for me.....
Now I just need to figure out how im gonna pull 1600-1800 out of my rear end.....
Maybe the heep wont be done for a couple of months so I can do this how I want instead of the, cough cough, not so cheap, cheap way.

I hope all these worms catch me some real big fish....lol
Thanks...
Brian (nice name but you should spell it with a y like me)
Once I find the coil over I want to go with I will e-mail you the specs of my rig, i.e. Wheel base total vehicle weight, axle and tire weight, front vehicle weight rear vehicle weight. If I can get your opnion on spring rates I would appreicat it.... Looking into it this will probably not be for 2 or so monts to i can get the extra cash for the coilovers.
Thanks guys....

I know about the Doetsch Tech coilovers quality, and you're partially right.

They are the least expensive coilover shock in the industry, and the finish and quality of the product shows this. Do they work? Yeah, but we encourage people to buy Sway-A-Way or "higher end" shock if they can afford it.

I've seen where people complain alot about blowing out the seals on the Doetsch Tech's, but what they're doing is scarring the shafts up, then they leak. That can happen no matter what brand you choose.

Just like everything, the buyer has to choose a balance between price vs. quality.

I hear yah....

I've just had a lot of problems over the years (6) with Doetch tech shocks but love their ride and price for normal TJ shocks their great.
As far as their coil overs no way..
As far as price--I can get Bilsteins or Fox's thru my bud and their what I would recommend...
But then again my motto is:
If your going to do it, do it right......

My Opinion...

The other advatage to Fox is a shorter overall length in the same stroke. Most people say fox is also the easiest to revalve yourself. I used them, haven't got to test them yet though.
