Comcast Torrent Throttling

Anyone know a work around for this? I'm trying to download the latest version of openSUSE and my speeds keep plunging. I've forced encryption, but that only seems to keep the download going at about 2kb/s, not boosting the speeds. I've read that doing an iptable RST block doesn't do anything unless both parties are doing it.
Any suggestions? I'm really pissed because this download is a legit one from Novell for a piece of free software and Comcast is blocking me.

That's what make me really mad about the whole deal. It took me nearly a week to download CentOS via torrent (CentOS is a free distribution, torrented from their own servers!!!) :mad2: Should have only taken a couple hours...

Bit-Torrent is actually a very good way to distribute legal software and companies like Comcast are screwing a lot of people over.

Try encrypting your traffic (incoming and outgoing) and use random port numbers.

Biggest thing is to get off the standard ports. Encrypting is also going to help. I can't stand Comcast.

What torrent software are you using? Notrax mentioned utorrent which is pretty good (do they have a mac version?) I use Azureus which will run on anything with Java, I know several people using this program on Comcast with no issues. Make sure to add the safepeer plugin and to change the default port.

If it's on your Mac then I'd suggest Transmission for the software. Azureus works as well but I prefer Tansmission.
