Comcast Torrent Throttling

what do you me by encrypted? if you are downloading from opensuse.org, you can't encrypt it without the other side cooperating, and that ain't gonna happen. If it's truly encrypted they won't be able throttle but the key is encryption end to end and using other network ports, like tcp port 80 (http).

Simple solution for this though, select standard download method ftp/http from opensuse.org!

I heard comcast rule now is they will let you d/l as much as your pipe can handle but uploads they will still limit/throttle. Meaning your machine sharing stuff to other people should be slow.

Hmm, you probably need to tweak your router settings, and your TCP/IP stack on your machine, there are tons of articles on how to open up maximum amount of connections, and etc...

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Go to your computer... log into Comcast.

Press the following:

Works every time!

Ok, here's the things I learned when I was on Comcast
1) Use Azureus (already knew that)
2) Change your port to 10001 (or some other random number)
3) Limit you max connections per torrent to 30
4) Limit your max global connections to 300
5) Limit your ul to 30KBs
6) And this is an important one, Comcast sucks and will ban you for using too much of your unlimited internet (although they no longer advertise it as unlimited)

But you probably shouldn't listen to me as I obviously don't know what I'm talking about

Wonder if I can get in on that for being banned the other year. They claimed I used to much bandwidth, and yes most of it was for bittorrent.
