Commander owners talk to me

I am looking at buying an 07 commander. It is the overland edition with the hemi and a really cool interior. I've read lots of reviews, but they are all over the board. I'm assuming that real jeep guys can give me much more meaningful opinions :greg:.

I have an 06 Commander and its been great. No problems. I take it everywhere the wrangler won't be needed. I can sleep in the back. The third row is only good for kids. Mine is the V6 so I can't say much about the HEMI. It actually turns much sharper than the Grand Cherokee which is way nice.

I had an 05 limited with the Hemi it was a good car i liked it my only complaint was the mpgs of the Hemi were horrible especially when i was driving i think we averaged around 15 over all but if you keep your foot in it you get like 10 or maybe less.

are there any common problems? things to watch out for? Do they tow well?

15mpg actually seems pretty good for a hemivan. also, are they all wheel drive all the time

Same motor as in the grand. My father in law had an 05 with the Hemi. He would pull the camper which weighed about 7200 loaded. It pulled it no problem and averaged about 9 while towing. He could get upto 21 on the road but it was usually 18 hwy and 14 around town.

I had an 07. It had a problem with something on the transmission. I would back out of the driveway then put it in drive but it would just go into a limp mode and idle along with no throttle response. They fixed it under warranty and they knew exactly what it was so apparently mine wasn't the only one. Other than that and the crappy mileage(V6). I liked it.
