I gotta agree, rattle can only looks good for about a week after application.
The body gets done next winter. At that time I will take the body off and sand bast the under and replace all the steel.harkinoff said:The rattle can thing looks :redneck:
Maaco has specials, little more than painting it yourself but if I did it over again I would spend the extra money and let them have the mess. just throw a good sanding on it pull all removables and getty up, cheapo paint job that looks a hundred times better than rattle can.. just a thought their big fella...
Shawn said:Well today I got 1/2 of the floor done. I went a got a sheet of 16 gauge and cut it 2 feet wide and 54" long. Then I cut out the floor patern on the 16 gauge, bent the ends up to match the ends. Then I laid the new piece on the floor and traced a line on where to cut out the old floor. I had to be careful not to cut the body mounts. I then took the grinder and a wire wheel and cleaned it up. Laid the new piece in and welded it up.
Good as new,
ya, I'm having fun...Greg said:Looks good Shawn, that's turning out to be quite the ride!

Good as new,
I'm going to finish the floor (there are some small holes in the rear also) Lift the body up and seal the underside, Paint the Jeep, use rollin bed liner on the floor, then install the cage and seats.BCGPER said:Wow, I'm shocked, that almost looks like "NEW" steel (cept, I know you'd never spring for that)
When we gonna shoot it? Do it now, while the interior's out.
Thats what counts. When you have fun doing a project.Shawn said:ya, I'm having fun...
Ya, it has been hard because I have been working on this for about 5 months and I really want to drive it.... But I also want to do it right and not have to go back a fix something later.rockdog said:Thats what counts. When you have fun doing a project.
