Here are some docs I have found on the DVI.
The second one talks about a difference in the DVI types and that can be the cause of your issue. Also be sure you have it set to close in the Nvidia software. the last one has the directions to set the software to close the desktop and what devices to select.

Sounds close on the last one. I'll try it using those steps this evening and see what happens.
