I had the same problem just a few weeks ago. I had to download and flash the bios to the newest version before it would detect the SATA drive. It was a PITA!

Might as well go main. I partioned my sata drive into 3 seperate partitions at about 70Gb each, just to keep things organized. OS and other programs on the 1st partition; Large programs, games, and other utilites on the 2nd partition; file / video / music / image storage on the 3rd.

But that's how I do it... no real need to do it like that.

I had mine kinda like that but what I was running into is when I was editting video I was runnign out of room on the drive...for example right now I am editting The Longest Yard and the folder for the files is over 100 GB (yes it will all fit on a single layer DVD :D) I figured since I back up my stuff regularly to my server and that gets backed up off-site I dont really need to have my drive partitioned :D

So what did you do?

I called Asus this morning and found that even though their website and even the readme on their disc says to copy all files from a certain directory on the mobo CD, you can only have SOME of them on the floppy. So I did that, got the drive to be recognized.....installed windows.....viva la bam!

Did you make your new drive your main one? Everytime I format I have issues getting my files off of my slave HD until I install the service packs; give that a try.
