Converting Colman Stove Fuel - Ideas?

Um yea, I'll do that. Nothing suspicious here. Seriously though, I'd still be interested in a couple more, that or build one from scratch that addresses the issues with these have.

With enough interest in these I think we should work it out to get some built or build them. I am interested in one as well and wouldn't mind building one.

Oh I've more than looked into this. Its 100% doable but unless we could nail down some pretty serious quantities (20+) the cost per unit could exceed $200/each. This of course would have a superior burner system, better allotment of storage and I would bump up the sizes 10-20%.

Any interest in designing one yourself? I'd love to hear your ideas behind what could be improved. I doubt there's another person on this planet who has spent more time using a Kamp Kitchn than you. I'm ready to start brainstorming on how to build a similar product (but just for myself, not for market).

I found my 1960+ coleman stove with stand but after reading this I think I will keep it and restore my sons old 79/80 scout II and join you guys on a trip. It will take me at least a year to get ready. By the way I converted my stove to work on gas or propane back in the 70's.

I don't know if you saw my reply on ExPo but I've already spent a considerable amount of time working on just that... there are other options on the market if you want to pay $$$, I'm aiming for something in the $150-300 range but we'll just have to see. I've even been in contact with the relatives of the original patent holder and am working that angle too. I spent some time with folks at the Outdoor Retailers Show and a overland industry group gathering that weekend and the KK came up a few times. I've got some great potential leads. Until I have time to work on it this winter my lips are sealed :D

Jack it would be an absolute pleasure to have you out on the Relic Run, I had your old lantern and case there last year, it was fun to show off!
