Couple LS related questions

Hey guys.

I have a 3/8" fuel line on my fuel rail and a 5/16" line. Which is the high pressure and which is the low pressure? I'm kind of assuming the 3/8" is the high pressure.

Also....what is this?

I am assuming it is smog related in which case I can yank it!

Thanks for your help!

Nice! Those are way better looking than what I was going to do!

Sooooo, I have a few more questions..... and then probably some more after that.

-What is this hose and what should I do with it? It runs in to the bottom of the throttle body.

Also, this engine has two front O2 sensors? The guy who sold it to me only gave me one.... I'm assuming these go in the down pipes? Rear O2's are deleted.

I believe that hose terminated at the factory overflow bottle (coolant).
It was used to somehow help heat the throttle body... help with cold mornings, etc..
I bypassed the T.B. on mine and have had no issues.

Edit: The steam purge line still needs to tie back into your coolant system.
Edit Edit: Some common places to tie it back to are near the thermostat (involves drilling and tapping the water pump), I've seen tee's in the upper radiator hose, and aftermarket radiators can have a port added as well. Mine ties in to a surge tank.

I run only 2 O2 sensors as well. One in the left bank, one in the right bank.

I have a LS question also. Don’t want to thread jack I’ll delete if wanted but maybe this is related enough. I have a LSA in my boat. I think it may have a slight oil leak at the front of the engine. I’ve never had one of these motors before and am wondering what the posibile sources are and how hard it might be to reseal.

Sounds like that question needs to be accompanied with a picture! It could be leaking from a number of different places.

The lines under the throttle body are to help keep it warm is cold climates. They can be blocked off or routed as mentioned.

Actually, if I recall, the engine has 3 o2 sensors. two pre-cat and one after. Only the two pre-cat are needed.

on my 6.0 (I assume LS is the same) there's a fitting on the rear of the passenger head that can be removed and used for temp sending unit. I used an adapter and if I remember correctly, I had to get a short sending unit from Autometer. The adapter is something like M12-1.5 to 1/8" NPT.

Regarding the oil pressure, there's a cast aluminum piece that bolts on directly above the oil filter. Cast into that piece is a female recess that can be drilled through and tapped 1/8" NPT.
