Anyone know what the bolt pattern is on an '83 Wagoneer?
And, how strong is the AMC 20 that came in the rear of the vehicle?

I believe all the wagoneers had a 6 lug pattern. The wagoneer AMC 20 axle had one piece axles instead of the crappy 2 piece ones they put on the CJs. Supposedly if the AMC 20 has one piece axles they are about the same strength as a Dana 44.

6x6.5 pattern. I use a front D44 in my cherokee from an '83 Wagoneer.
the word is that the AMC 20 found in wagoneers is actually not a bad setup. Suppossably 1 piece axles, which in the CJs were 2 piece. I think they have a larger ring gear than a d44 also. I'll try to dig up some more info.
