Crazy 8 U4WDA Summer Convention

Went and ran crazy 8 again this year, lots of RME'ers there on this trail this year. Lets see, there was Wayne Hartwig, Wayne xj, Bobdog, Camel, and lots of other people I had met before also. It went pretty smooth even though there was some consdierable number of breakdowns. We had a orange samurai buggy break a hub or stub shaft, Keith Shurtz did the same at the exact same obstacle, A stretched samurai thingy broke a birfield rather quick in his toyota axle I believe all in the first 100 yards of the trail, later we had a driveline pop loose due to some broken u joint straps or bolts. Got done pretty quick though by 1230 or 1. Good trail and good folks though. Thanks U4WDA

So you got thorough in one piece hugh... much better then last year.

Yeah I got hung up in the exact same spot as last year, but after a minute of fighting it, winched and finished the trail. Unlike last year where I said I want one more try, I gassed the crap outta it and broke a rear axle:eek:

your sammy did real well. I sure thought that yellow tracker/sidekick thing with the wyoming plates was cool, verry unique. My winch sure got a work out ont that ledge.

I'm surprised it didn't overheat from all of the use it got! Thank's by the way ;)

The orange sami WJZUK was speaking of broke an inner axle shaft (D44), we (he - we stood around drinking his beer while he worked on it lol) fixed it back at the fair grounds. I think the other sami had a D60 up front and I'm not sure what he broke.

Definately a good time! The rodeo deal was a blast, too!!! It was also very hot that day.

I had a great time on that trail. I'd also like to thank everyone that helped organize this event. Hey B-RAD, sorry you didn't get to use your winch on me. :D

no worries maybe next time  Man that was a fun trail. I left SLC at 5:30 am barely had time to pee at the line up before we jumped on the trail. I forgot alot of stuff including camra. then my stupid truck acting up on the way to the trail (should've bought another manual trans.) BUT you sure can't beat a Great trail run :D
