Crew cab hot rod

Anyway,
once I made it to the track I breezed through tech, checked fluids and tires and got in line.

I took 3- 5 degrees of timing out ( different rpm and map ranges ) to slow it down a little as I was worried about running too fast at sea level. I never had time to put in the roll bar so 11.50 flat was as fast as i could legally run.

Ran a 11.69 at 114mph. It felt super sluggish too.
I put 1-3 degrees back in and it ran 2 runs at 11.58 at 118 in a row. Better leave it there i figured. Nice and safe.

Then it was time to race.
I set a dial in of 11.50 as i thought that would be safe, especially as the density altitude had gone up a little as it got warmer.

Lined up against a 16 second car that got what felt like the biggest head start ever...

Then promptly ran him down and passed him Right before the lights, unfortunately it ran 11.48 at 120 . Broke out and was done. Shit...lol

I put all the timing back in and went in the test and tune lane as I was out of competition already and had seemingly gotten away with running faster than allowed.

Got a good launch and there was no sluggishness now with the tune back where it should be. It pulled Hard.
At sea level the little rusty rambler ran 11.24 at 126. It was moving...

After that I was still pretty pissed about the truck so rather that chance a 2nd night at the shady hotel I said screw it and loaded up and headed back towards Primm.

I may be done with the Rambler, time for a real hotrod I think. I think a full cage, and times in the single digits are next..lol

Well, I posted the old Rambler for a few days and then pulled down the ad after 100 messages with dumb questions ...lol

Here were some of my favorites...

"What kind of mileage does it get if I want to daily drive it ?" Ummm.. Kinda hard to measure mileage 1/4 mile at a time...
"Does it have A/C ?" It doesn't have heat or working wipers..lol Wing windows work great so... Sure...
"Will it make the drive back to (insert name of city 29hrs away here) ?" Probably, if you dont mind the noise, drag radials, and no wipers..lol
"Do you think this would be a good 1st car for my 16 year old ? We like old cars and want something reliable ? Hmmm. Super light with tons of power.... Terrific car for a newly licensed 16 year old if you aren't concerned with him ever being 17..

And then of course the 23 messages asking how much to LS swap their whatever or asking questions on how they can LS swap their shitbox..
Most have a $47 budget to boot so, yeah....
"The internet said you can for it for like $500... (The internet must have forgot about the $2000 Holley Terminator ...lol)

And so on...LOL

Ill probably get it posted back up soon though in a couple groups on Facebook. Probably avoid Marketplace.
Even if someone just wants to swap their muscle car it would be a pretty damn good pile of parts for that.

Its got like 20k in parts in it and It will be for sale soon at $10K.
New build coming soon..ish...
(The new Motor is done but sneak peak.. Whipple is around 12 weeks out...lol)

Probably impossible to build something for 10 grand that runs low 11's and could run 10's most likely with a set of gears or a 100 shot of N20.
Ill even give the new owner a set of 4.56's I never got around to installing and a install kit for them...lol

Its really silly, I may just keep it around and yank the motor, trans, converter, and Holley for the White C10...
With the Blower that setup would make the C10 a beast. The stock 5.3 is kinda lame these days even with the little Vortech on it and it has a stock trans still.
The Ls2 from the Rambler with a little boost would liven things up a bit...lol

I may need to just sell the enclosed I hardly use and find a longer flatbed to haul 2 cars to these events...lol
