my plans were to sell my 1st gen 4runner and pick up a dbl cab tacoma... personally, i'd always thought that the 80 series was quite lame as an off-road rig.. up until last week we did that extended trip that rob mentioned previously... the 80 kicked some serious ass, and i can't say enough about that simple 2.5" OME lift.. we launched the 80 at about 40mph on a dirt road(somewhat by accident), about 3 seconds of air time, and it was impressive the way teh suspension took the abuse over the entire weekend..

my thoughts, 80's can kickass.. heavy, sluggish like Kurt stated.. but half the price of the dbl cab taco.. rob paid $10k for his, with the factory e-lockers.. so they're out there.. i'm seriously leaning in teh 80 direction just for the price difference over the tacoma.. also, i really have no need for the pickup bed.. whereas the 80's leg room might be nice down the road if i ever end up with little shits runnin around.. :)

overall, i was impressed with 80 enought to rethink what i want to buy(i was heart set on a taco)... however, i didn't have to fill up rob's 80 at the pump everytime ;)
