Here is what Im up to now...

I had these cut out by Carl (I Lean) and this will be the beginning of my I6 header for the Atlas 4.2L engine.

I originally was just going to bend up some tubing for the primaries, but I ended up ordering a header "kit" from summitracing.

Parts on order:

Fun!! Looking forward to seeing this come together! Is the stock manifold restrictive? I know the Gen III V8's have exhaust manifolds that aren't that bad, in terms of flow & performance.

No they really arent that bad. Kooks recently developed a long tube header they claim gained 20hp with a computer tune. But Im sure most of that was the tune.

I started with an exhaust leak that I thought was a cracked manifold, well it was just loose bolts. My stock manifold is old, and my replacement heavy duty version is thicker wall. So the new one is restrictive.

Kooks is $915 with high flow cat...

Just a mock up, some tubes need cut and shortened, while others need cut and rotated. Plus I dont know how it will fit in the engine compartment just yet.
