I wouldn't say this truck is going to be a money pit of a project quite the opposite. The engine and trans are both practically new on the inside, the steering and suspension components are fresh and upgraded. The two front tires have about 10k miles on them.

This truck could use a fresh set of tires on the rear and will be drivable for as long as needed till you can put a fresh transfer case in it.

As far as towing this truck will do anything you need it to. With EFI Live and 5 selectable tubes you can have enough power to pull a tank or a tow tune set up to your needs. The tuner can make tunes to automatically de-fuel when your EGTs get too high or can make special mapping to ease into the torque curve. The possibilities with tuning are insane! The Kelderman self leveling bags are great for handling all the weight and distributing the load. The bags also make this truck ride especially smooth

I couldn't agree more. I'm out of town all day Saturday and Sunday to pick up my new rig. I was going to have the truck detailed on Monday so you should come check it out after!

I need some input about this rig. What do I need to do to get more interest in it? Do I lower the price more to justify the shortcomings? Do I fix the transfer case and wait it out for the right price?

When you look at the ad what's the first thing that turns you off? Is it the paint job? The miles? The modifications? The price? Also what would you ask for this same truck?

NADA retail is $15,550
KBB says private $15,000, retail $20,000

The t-case would be a pretty big issue for me. I wouldn't want to drop 15k for something I had to pull into the shop and tear apart.

Second the the paint job is little too loud/goofy for me, but I am old school and anti stickers. ;)

Good feedback , keep it coming. I agree the paint is definitely an eye grabber and not always in a good way. If it were solid black what would be a fair price the way it sits in your opinion?

Feedback for you...If I were looking for this vehicle, or even a full-size in general, the things that immediately turn me off are mismatched tires, leaks (any), needs work (leaks and t-case), paint, a swapped engine (always a red flag to me), and you're asking more than private party. The engine in this case is completely explainable, but most of the time when a vehicle has a swapped engine and it's this new (especially a diesel) it's simply due to neglect. If the engine was neglected to the point of needing replacement, how's the rest of the vehicle is the thought that goes through my mind...again, this case is different I'm just saying. I understand there's been a lot done to it, but my opinion is no matter what has been done to any vehicle, it doesn't raise the value, it just raises the appeal. So, what I would do is fix those shortcomings, get a set of matching tires, fix the small leaks, and fix the t-case. A low price wouldn't offset those negatives...unless you're talking $4-$5K below private party. The paint will appeal to someone, or is offset by a good deal on the price. I think with everything fixed, the most you can expect to see is private party...and that is probably stretching it since most people will be financing and most banks or CUs won't loan 100% on something that's 12 years old. I may be smoking crack, but I've bought and sold a ton of vehicles in my life and these are all things that would pop out to me.

Hopefully you can get this truck sold so you can move on to your new (funner :D) Tacoma. :)

Thanks for the honest review Caleb. So now it's a choice to lower the price enough to sell or fix and hope to break even... I could always pull the front ARB and the Webasto heater to cover some cost

I think the paint job is one of the best things about it!

My guess is that those who can afford it are looking for a little more 'stock', and those who would love it for what it is can't afford it.

I agree with Caleb's breakdown 100%.

IMO you need a bigger target audience. There is someone out there looking for that truck, you just need to find them. It's very custom, you need to find that guy that loves it like you did when you first got it. I would try an Ebay listing, if you want to sell it as-is. Be realistic on the price, give a complete & full description and post a ton of pics. If the truck doesn't sell on Ebay, at least you've put it out there and may find a buyer after the auction is over.

You need to find a highschool kid in the FFA who has a rich daddy. My advice would be to go to Maico and pay for a paint job. Bet it would find a home

I'm not sure a quick maaco job would actually pay off but it is a thought.
Until I fix it up or list it on E-bay...

SPECIAL PRICE $13,000!!!

I would fix the t case, 2wd trucks are cheap. Also look into getting the drivers seat repaired. That torn leather is the first thing you see when you open the door. I know that are some cigarette burn places that can fix it for pretty cheap, like a 100 or so. That's what I did when I sold my superduty
