I have a rear custom drive shaft-Saginaw style custom machined and the CV is going out. Can they be rebuilt or do they have to be replaced?

not sure about your cv but mine had to be replaced but I have heard a few people have rebuilt theirs...

They can usually be rebuilt as long as you don't let them get real bad and damage the ujoint mounting flanges.

Hopefully I can get it rebuilt, the U-joints look ok but the CV in the center lost its seal and threw out all the grease. It was a little rough in the morrining, but on the way home from work it got really rough. Its a little stiff on the ball and cap joint, throwing it off line and causing the vibs. Who would you recomemend to take it to?

Just got off the phone with six-states and I need a new centering kit $10 diy or $80 for them to do it. not to bad at all. Sure am glad I don't have to replace the dirveshaft. I'll just buy the parts and put it together myself. Thanks for your help.

well got the drive shaft done at Six States and still have on power vibrations. going to pull the diff cover tomorrow and have a looksee in there.
