D60 bearing hub discussion.

I need to check into putting the F*rd spindle on the Chev/Dodge. I think the seal surface needs to be machined to run a F*rd hub (then you can get cheap hubs as I believe they are the same as used on F250). I know the bolt pattern on the Ford is 5 bolt and the Dodge/Chev spindle is 6 bolt.

I'd kind of bet I'd end up with some possible caliper issues using the Ford stuff. Might be kind of fun to find out, though.

I would do what skinner did, and make caliper brackets for the 1/2 ton rotors.

Are you staying 8 lug? What size wheels? I run Ford spindles on chev knuckles that were redrilled......

16" wheels or greater. Staying 8 lug. Hmmmmm........now I need a F*rd spindle, just so I know......Which stub (outer shaft) are you using? The F*rd?

Yep, Ford stub, Ford spindle....I would have used the Ford knuckle, but I had 15'rims, so the 2 piston caliper would not fit....and 1/2ton calipers won't fit the Ford knuckle.

Yep & chev 3/4 ton rotor. Pretty easy to make with the plas & the jig kit.
That's what I thought. Marc was just saying that the Ford one won't work(which I wouldn't use anyway)

To clearify, what I meant was niether Ford or Chev 1/2 calipers fit easily on Ford knukles.... And dual piston ford calipers don't like to fit with 15" rims....Anything is possible, can be made to fit.... It was a lot easier to redrill the chev knuckle for the Ford spindle, when we were building mine.
Which was before off the shelf parts were available.
