he's saying you're the only person that knows if you should do that or not. If you already have a tow rig, then you already have a secondary mode of transportation in case your car breaks down which means it won't really kill you to have a trail only rig--unless you like to do trails that aren't practical to have such a rig for or don't like the idea of having to trailer the thing to every trail and leaving the tow rig at a fixed point that you have to return to at the end of the day.
Just know, that once you cut it up, you now have to trailer it everywhere and deal with not having as much room to bring people/things with you on the trail.
I miss my buggy, but I wouldn't cut up my current rig. I need/want a 2 rig system. I need one rig to thrash and one rig to do long range camping/expedition type wheelin. I enjoy both equally and it's impossible for me to build a rig that can satisfy both needs. The things that make a rig good for one, make it bad for the other so there is no compromise.
