Dana 30 gears

I have a 6cyl Jeep Wrangler with the Dana 30. I already bought some gears for it, but haven't installed them yet. When I do my Dana 44 swap in the rear I will need to do the gears because the 44 I have already has 4.10 gears. I was just wondering what gears are in a 4cyl Jeep Wrangler's Dana 30? What about splines, U-joints, high pinion or low pinion, anything else, etc? Are they the same just R&P different?

What would you rather do... Install the R&P on my existing 30 and slowly upgrade that axle, or do an axleswap with a 4cyl Dana 30 because it already has the R&P for it (if it really does.)

Thanks.

High pinion D30 front same as what is in yours, and so far all the 4 cyl. Wranglers I have worked on have had 4.10's in them from the factory. I think the u-joints are smaller than what your already running but, you never know with Heep's:D .

I have the 4 popper in mine.

It has factory 4.10's, high pinion, uses the 297X u-joint that is that same size as the 6 cylinder YJ's. BUT, it uses that damn center axle disconnect that all YJ's came with:(

If its possible I would swap[ axles...way easier and cheaper if you can find one...like Andy said all 4cyl, to my knowledge, have 4.10 from the factory and is otherwise the exact same as what yo have...if you get a 95 or newer front it should have the 297-x joints...if you get a 94 there is possibility it has the bigger 297 joints but no tlikely anything older than 94 has the 260-x joints...
