Ford Dana 60 35 spline stub shafts
Does anybody have a part number for these?
Looks to me that chevy and dodge are a little longer. Can they be cut down?

The 35 spline stubs are for a GM D70 application, you won't find a ford-specific 35 spline stub easily.

You can cut the end off a normal one to use in your Ford axle.

Yeah, you can cut like 3/8" (??) off the Chevy & Dodge outters & make them work with Ford parts... I think that's how much it is.

I'd highy recommend researching it before cutting!

On Billavista's 60 bible, I beleive it is .60"
You are correct like 5/8"
I guess as long as they are splined deep enough you could loose the outer snap ring groove and run drive flanges . If they are held in by the outer snap ring in the wheel hub.

FWIW I have never run the snap rings on my 30 spline Ford stubs. I have Warn hubs.

Question is how do drive flanges mount.
On my 44 they were held in place by that snap ring.
Same setup on the 60, just bigger. The snap ring is supposed to keep the outer shaft from sliding in and out of the knuckle... it will slide, but very little.

The only axle that needs the snapring is the TTB Fords. I never run them on regular 44's or 60's.

Yukon is the cheapest Ford 60, 35 spline outer, but they may still be on back order....Moser, CTM, etc also make them, but $$$$

You can use hubs with the cut down ones, but you will probably need to cut the splines a little deeper to make them work.

The flanges are held in with a huge snap ring that you fish into a groove on the hub. You still don't need the axleshaft snap ring.
