Yeah, I read about that online but also read that they were thinner and allowed slop in the u-joint caps.

Use two?
The main idea is that with the full circle clips you aren't going to throw the cheesy stock clips and hence loose a cap, u-joint, yokes...

I had a hell of a time getting them on my caps on the both the stock inner and the Yukon alloy 35 spline outer. They've been together for the past 10 years without issue.

Consider welding the caps to the axle shafts. Sparingly so not all the grease melts out.
