Dana Axles?

Totally Awesome
I've been thinking about going to Dana axles under my Range Rover. I've upgraded the ones I have, but I'm afraid I may break them again at some point. I'm currently on pizza cutter 33" tall tires. I have 3.54 gears in my current Rover axles. So the only option in a Rover gear set is 4.10's. But I might as well buy axles for the price they cost.

I'd like to eventually go up to a 35"x12.50x16 tall tire.

My Range Rover weighs about 4000 lbs. The diesel probably puts out 300 foot lbs. If I turbo it like I plan to it could be 350 ft/lbs.

Anyway, would Rubicon axles be too weak? Should I look for some D60's? Or would a set of Land Cruiser Series 80 axles be the way to go?

Of course I am going to say 60s :), but probably anything 44 or bigger would be fine. All the Rubicon front axles are going to be driver drop so they won't work. Some of the Jeep Wagoneer rear axles were offset to the passenger side.

Front 44, 10 bolt, 60.
Rear 44, 12 bolt, 14 bolt, 60, 70, etc.

I have bought a few sets of 3/4 chevy axles d44 front and 14 bolt rear for 250 bucks for the set with 4.10 gears already. Sometimes, I had to buy the whole truck and pull the axles out.

I'm using a NP241 HD dodge case. It has a center rear output.

4.10's would be sweet.

I was also looking at Toyota axles from an FZJ80 since they are already coil sprung as well, like my Range Rover. I have disc brakes on all 4 corners as well, so I'd like to keep that option. And get a parking brake provision with the new axles. Since Land Rover always had the parking brake built into the transfer-case, I currently do not have a parking brake
