personally, what i'd love to see as stock class:
stock axles, internal upgrades allowed
minimal fender trimming
full body panels, including doors and tailgates
stock style suspension; no coilovers, unless factory option
maximum 35" tire, no stickys
must be registered
aka daily driver/weekend warrior
All that is in sportsmans C and sometimes A lol! but seriously, most of c class is that.. but i believe limited to 37" tires if iirc. Mod stock isnt the class people are looking at for this event.. i think people are looking for a daily driver event.

So you want some courses for a bone stock rig?? That would be a fun class, i think it would need a participant cap, just for downtime to be controllablemy biggest argument is stock axles and stock style suspension. swapping either of those in my eyes removes the vehicle from "stock" classification

nah, not in Sportsman A at all. That class is for rear steer buggies now and has been for almost strictly full tube buggies for years.
I think mod stock rules would be fine as they are very similar to the stock class rules of OSRC. My concern is that a TON of people compete in that class as it stands. The year I won I think we had 16 competitors. It was the biggest class there.
I do get the attraction to a stock as &@$% class like I’ve heard Dan describe in the past and I like it. But is that the class the only runs easy stuff (no rollover risk) and maybe goes over the teeter totter? This needs to be decided.
I like all that minus the free sat event.. i don't see that helping sport, usually that crowd is just tgere for somethimg free.. id rather see lower comp pricing for stock vehicle class, to help attract more racers...Adopt WERock StockMod rules, and most of the current DCRC "stock" class will end up there; this helps helps encourage those drivers to compete in additional WERock comps throughout the season. Add a DCRC specific "Stock A.F." to get some fresh blood. Eliminate the tippy stuff, and maybe make it a one day (Saturday) class without an entry fee. This gives people a chance to give cone dodging a try, without the possibly of vehicle damage (unless they really screw up), and they're not out $$$ to try something, and end up hating it after their first course.
the course with the tube and teeter totter could be the StockAF course; easy access, and plenty of obstacles that could challenge something on 35s. Maybe split it into two courses, that could then each be run in both directions. This course could also be accessible without adding additional vehicle traffic to the already chaotic existing comp area.
But all that fits in sportmans C right now.. is it that C courses are to hard? Maybe they adopt a one off rule for bypassing damaging gates for exhibition class only?not bone stock; that would take forever. But take a TJ Rubicon for example, regear the stock d44s, throw on a long arm kit, and you've got a pretty typical Utah wheeling rig. Or maybe JK/JL rubicon on 37s (even though that goes against what i've said earlier). There would need to be minimum vehicle requirements, but the rulebook would have to appeal to the "average" wheeler.
Captain Rob and a few others would disagree on it being tube only.. I've felt A was a driver class.. its always been doable by the hardcore guy.. maybe not competitive for the guy on leaf springs but doable. (There was leaf springs in the pro mod shoot out 3 yrs ago at nationals) theres always the they run C course now argument.. but thats a whole other topic hahaha. So is this a they want another stock class or they want to change sportmans c rules to up guys to sportsman a topic ?? I think the tetter totter and over by the culvert would be good super stock courses. We called it the log crawl at the far end but that would be good stock area too. Be nice to get more entry level participants to help it thrive

That's always been my concern about OSRC. There are 3 or 4 classes for essentially buggies, and 1 for full bodied, street legal rigs. Yes, I know there are big differences in the classes of buggies, but still, it seems there should be some difference between a street legal rig with a stretched wheel base, and like Tyler Harper's rig. Not sure why I'm even speaking up while driving a JK that could fit the stock class, it was just always a pet peeve.
Nate has proven a dana 30 can dominate competition with the right spotter
I think that would be a good solution.. i feel like theres a same kinda gap in SA as well. My concern with merging more of we rock rules into delta comp is that it'll take on more of a we rock rock feel and not a stand alone event with its own character. I do agree something is needed to help bring new talent in but also move drivers up as they top out in their respected class's.Technically there’s a gap between what’s allowed in SC and OSRC stock class. It’s not a ton of things but it’s still a gap. I’d hate to see the stock class (often the biggest class there) be turned off by moving into SC and not come out. If the class seems redundant when everybody shows up we can just combine them. That would bump people like me up a class (to SB) but it is what it is.
I dont know why people would be scared to run a stock rig in sportsman C. I also think the stock class should be the way it always been. (stock wheelbase, stock style suspension, 37s max) Upgrading axles in stock class should be allowed. It doesnt make the vehicle any more capable just less likely to break.
