Comes off as conspiritorial? Time to reread your own statements. Sound consipiritorial to me. "the powerful manipulate it"
I must admit I only read your post to the point I quoted it.
Sorry it came off as conspiratorial. It was not my intention. While conspiracies may exist I believe the problems we are facing are because of lots and lots of people making lots and lots of little fibs. It just culminates and grows on itself and results in problems.
Former fed chief Greenspan said that he had always assumed that banks would be responsible to their shareholders, turns out they were not. Now I would argue that is a result of all the layers of willing blindness.
As far as the "powerful", my argument goes like this, the rules of economics are well know, they apply in every situation, in every part of the world. Our federal government was supposed to be a watchdog, there to keep us out of trouble. They have the brightest minds working there right? Instead, either through mass delusion or willing "pass the buckery". They have let fundamental fiscal issues unwind to stability and independence of America.
When people argue about all the ancillary democrat this and republican that, in my mind they have been blinded by a political smoke screen.
No conspiracy here. I wish it was that simple.
