Devil's Race Track Ride 6/28/08

Ok yall we got another

100 S. in Salina we will be meeting up at Holeey's Pantry at 8:30 a.m. and from there we will be heading out to the San Rafeal Swells and running the Devil's Race track! I have never been out there personally but from the pictures I've seen it looks like a bunch of intense slick rock! not sure what the trail is rated either but when I get more info I will let you know!

I would say it's rated a 3. There is only one tricky spot, but it's not really that tricky. I drove it with a broken hub.

Count on about 2 hours for the trail (unless you go slow and stop a lot to take in the scenery). It makes a great loop with the Eva Conover trail.

gorgeous area. Take lots of pics, and bring lots of dihydrogen monoxide this time of year.

You could stop in to Swasey's cabin and loop through eagle canyon and up to Justisen (spelling?) flat then take the moore cut off road back to Hwy 10 to head back north as an alternative route. That is a really neat area with a lot of great scenery and Swasey's arch along the way.

Eagle canyon is not to friendly on Full width or full lengh vehicles cause of a couple tight squeezes.

I was up there a couple months ago on ATV's and there was one spot on one of the dougways that was a little more narrow then I remember in the past... big boulder on one side, and the ledge on the other... Should be fun anyway...

Whoo trail was fun! bajaing through the river beds, rock crawling up ledges, and awesome scenery! the last part of the trail where it started the Devil's Race track was absolutely killer! only 6 rigs went but plenty of fun people and beautiful day to top it off! The only down fall was the very end trying to make it home, ran out of gas right on the exit ramp to salina haha oh well coasted into Route 66. But all in all thanks to those who came out!
