What does it do for an intake? I imagine it'll lose some efficiency if it's sucking cold outside air instead of warmish inside air?it would be nice if the heater were outside with the vent plumbed thru the wall.

Yes, and generally. If it’s really cold and you have a large tent they may run out of fuel or battery capacity by morning.I did not know about these. Can you use them for tents. Will they run all night on a charged car battery?
When I was looking at one for my setup, I happened across a video of a comparison of temps with intake using outside air, and using recycled air from inside the tent. The impression I got was that it didn't have to work as hard to bring temps up if using warm air. I have only used mine twice, and both times was just to knock the chill off, so it didn't run very long. I haven't needed it enough to decide I needed to run my ducting to recycle the air. But I would assume that it would "create" more heat in an enviroment if the intake temp was already "hot".What does it do for an intake? I heard those HCalory heaters were quieter thank most others. Did you notice any difference?I got the new heater installed. It was pretty simple. Everything was the exact same so I didn’t have to change any of the wiring or ducting. I just plugged in the new controller swapped out the main body and everything worked. I think I’m most excited about the added Bluetooth capability. And the biggest feature of that is being able to schedule turn on and turn off times. Now on ski days, I can program it to start for me in the morning so when I wake up and head out to the van, it’s gonna be nice and warmed up. And hopefully have all the snow melted off the windshield and everything.
I didn’t replace the fuel pump or anything either since that was new at the beginning of the season so I’ll just add this as a spare.
This is the unit I replaced it with in case anyone is curious.
