Ok who knows of a good transmission shop near Lehi.It would seem something went south in my trans.It is making a nasty ratcheting noise when trying to shift into 2nd.

well anyway i checked out GEARs he wants an estimated 3k for a full rebuild.won't do an less then full rebuild.

I spoke briefly with one of my buddies- he was one of GEARS mechanics until he went on his own.
From my limited description he felt like the band for second gear had wore out. He echoed GEARS sentiments- a full rebuild:-\

Not Lehi, but S.SLC Chicks on W Temple and about 3400S.

I kinda disagree with that. I had problems with my transmission a couple years ago. Every shop I took it to told me that I needed to do a full rebuild. I didn't think so...
So, I searched around and talk to some shade tree transmission guys online instead and got some leads and ideas. Turns out: $200 in sensors & solenoids and it was back to brand new and it's still going strong to this day.
I'm convinced most Transmission shops will tell you that you need a full rebuild no matter the problem. I'm not saying that Badger might not need one, but just to be wary. The money isn't in the quick fix for them...

oh i'm positive its the band clutch or something to do with that.now as to whether its actually just a stuck solenoid i have no idea.i would much rather pay a hundred or two to get it up and running again.
at some point i will have it fully rebuilt to handle the extra power when i redo turbo system

if your truck has power mods go here they build DTT transmissions and they are bomb proof....it will cost some coin tho.

i don't have any power upgrades right now but i know i will in the future .if i have to rebuilt it now i know i might as well build it right this time
then I would have moonlight build you a DTT trans they are AWESOME:greg:
then you would Never have to worry about it again
I was going to do a DTT on my 01 but I sold it and got a standard instead.
you would be happy with a DTT for sure...

if you plan on mods save yourself the hassle and have it built right the first time!!!
these guys have sweet trans too they are a little cheaper and have a super warranty
