Ok.. "Sultans Of Swing" is a pretty good classic, I can dig it... and "Money For Nothing" gives me fond memories of 7th grade homeroom, talking to Tina White behind me... but do these guys have any other songs that are worth a sh*t?

I mean really.

Hmmm looks like the track list on this greatest hits album the other guy here just gave me.

Lady Writer isn't bad. Heavy Fuel I can stand. :D

You really like all those songs??

Well, I am unimpressed by this collection here. On the strength of their early work, and some of Mark KNOPFLER's stuff that I've heard at random lately, I will not write them off entirely.

The 80's weren't kind to anyone, so I'm willing to disregard any lapses of artistic judgment they may or may have fallen victim to.

Thank you fellas. You've steered me right again.

The 80's weren't kind to anyone,

How dare you! :D Personally I think that the 80's was the last decade of music that really had an identity. You can recognize most 'pop' music from the 80's straight away because of its distinctive sound. These past two decades, not so much. I'm not saying it's been bad music, just that its been pretty blah as a whole.

Being a product of the eighties and a lover of the music, I have to say I much perfer the last 5-10 years of music....esspecially the Independant stuff. There is a lot of crap, but there is some VERY good stuff out there too!
