I've looked at those. How do you keep it hot in the winter?
It's stayed hot. I did put some insulation panels under my deck directly under the tub to insulate that part. Only issue was when the power went out for a few hours and things got cold. It took a loonng while to reheat.

I’m about 7 hours, 2 evenings, 2 Amazon orders, 4 Home Depot trips, $500, and a little bit of anger in.. and I still don’t have water or power.

@Tonkaman came by this evening, and while he was here we ran the electrical through conduit and through the raceway of the hot tub. I don’t think I could have done it without his help, and more importantly, his brain.

I’m sure this would go much faster had I done this before.. but I bought all the parts I thought I wanted and needed, and it turns out that the wire, conduit, and boxes wanted to be a different way. Not a real issue, except each change is a trip to the store.

However, I think just a few minutes in the morning tomorrow, and I should 🤞🏻 be good to go.

Also, after being a bit more intimate with the tub, I’ve found a few things that I did not expect as far as poor repairs. It’s stuff you’d expect maybe after a few years of ownership, like clips missing and screws in place instead.. but not really things I expected from a refurbished factory tub.
I still got enough of a deal that I can’t be mad or complain.. but it’s not the showroom condition I was led to believe.

I got everything hooked up, and got the tub filled. I was super nervous to turn it on for the first time. I was afraid I may have hook something up wrong, or that I bought something that wasn’t going to work 😬🤣

I kicked itself on, and both of the pumps worked very well.
I used our tankless water heater to fill it up, so it’s already warm… But we have to wait for the chemicals to do their thing before we can use it.

Also, as it turns out it is the A8l, which is more upgraded and luxurious than the R8L that I thought I had. So that was a happy little bonus.

I love hot tubs - I don't love the chemicals, they cause my eczema to go nuts. If I every did one, I would want to do the salt water, or the mineral versions.

The house we just bought has an old one (from the 90's) and we have been using it quite a bit. It may get old after a while and I'm sure it will not get much use in the summer, but so far it has been really nice. We didn't run it for the first several months (drain, clean, order some parts, find time to install, etc.) and it didn't change our power bill nearly as much as I thought it would. Like hardly at all.

So far the tub has been used about 7 different times.. and I am down to about $295 per bather/use.
Only 1 enjoyable couples time when the kids were asleep to not walk out and see their fat naked dad 🤮

I was under the impression that privacy fencing and such was a bad idea, as it prevents the best views, and takes away the open feeling.
However, I think some sort of wind barrier would be nice.. maybe just on one of the sides, to prevent the crosswind that makes it colder on our heads and cools the water quickly.

I have also realized that we have no where to hand towels and robes, so a single wall with some hooks would be nice.

Up to 16 uses. 5 family, 5 couple, 6 solo. No friends 🤷🏼‍♂️

Down to $158 per bather.

We’ve already had to drain, clean, and fill it one. High maintenance item for sure.

So, for you experienced hottub owners, do you use it in the peak of summer? I want to, but every time I do I get irritated at how hot it is outside and in the tub.
I almost want to make it a cool tub for the summer.
