Dog adoption opinion

Thanks for the for responses.... well... most of them anyway. I wouldn't put the dog in a box all day, pooch would have the run of the place... I'll even leave the TV on...

The last dog I owned, I adopted from a shelter back in the early 90's. When I found him, he had no fur on his a$$ from hot spots, had only 1 eye and was lying in a puddle of his own urine. I named him "Dumpy".

I'm trying to convince my wife that our dog needs a friend to play with and keep him entertained during the day... "once we get a house with our own yard".. then it's "once the yard is done".. then it's "once we finish this... once we finish that..."

Give it a few months.. I'm just going to bring one home.
