Driving on the snowy road with dual lockers

I found that being locked (spools) front and rear was far superior to just a rear locker and an open front on ice or snow.

I would say that while driving down a hill I would unlock one hub and drive in three wheel drive, or maybe even just rear wheel drive. While driving up a hill I would want the front locked. But, I am unsure as to how I would want it while driving around town. I guess that I would not even worry about it because I have four other four wheel drive vehicles to drive on the street that all have heaters in them.:D

I like the way you think! :D Here's my issue though, Lemon Joy does indeed have a heater, it's the lack of doors and sides which creates it's own swirling blizzard that makes her such a party. We rarely take her out in the winter, it's just that she is sooooo much fun and so damn cute, sometimes it's worth the self torture. :)

im not a fan of the the rear being locked, it makes my rear slide out if im on the throttle... which could be scary next to other cars on state. and ive noticed locked for doughnuts just doesnt work to well, worked great in dirt tho! i was a little disapointed when the snow came really :/

Oh yeah, really, I can now see what you mean. I removed the windows and roof on my beater but, I still had the windows in the doors the last time I wheeled it in the snow. It would help me if I was part Eskimo or Siberian or something. I really had no idea that removing just the windows in the doors would make such a difference. I am an official wimp now. Only fair weather wheeling for me.
