So, It's about freakin' time I did something here. I've been a casual lurker on the boards for a while now. I took a short hiatus from lurking even, but now I'm back...

My name is Steve, and I live in West Jordan. I have a 1976 FJ55 Landcruiser, which I've had plans to build it into a rock crawler for way too long now. Hopefully soon I'll have something going with it. I know just about crap when it comes to this stuff, but I'm fortunate enough to have a brother and good friend, (both of whom are on this site) that are absolute magicians when it comes to crawlers and buidling them, so I just have to tap into that resource. Once I get the project going, I'll be sure to start a thread for it and post some pictures of the progress. Of course, any ideas, humor, and moral support are certainly welcome.

Aside from crawling, I love soccer, any music besides rap, and beer. Guinness and Newcastle are my favorites. Not much to write about myself other than that. Thanks for the great website! I'm sure my Iron Piggy will bring some good laughs to people here on the boards in due time! Hope to see you all on the trails some time

Here's a couple of shots... these pictures are kinda like a mini skirt. They give you some good ideas, but don't actually reveal the whole thing. I can't make up my mind as to whether I'm going to bob the back end straight down, and turn it into a BJ70 of sorts, or if I'm going to half-cab the back end and bastardize it into a Hummer of sorts...

Looks nice! Don't hack if you don't have to! A hummer style half cab wouldn't help much with crawling, and I think those are too often done and look weird. A rear bob can make a pig look pretty cool though, in my opinion. Have fun, whatever you decide to do! I'd love to hit the trail with another pig!

You know when I first bought her, I didn't have any ideas about bobbing the back end. But there is a ton of overhang on that thing. If I went the half cab route, it would actually be more like a quarter cab type deal... Thinking maybe I would shorten the back tub a bit, then cut the wheel wells in at a 45 degree angle. That would address part of the overhang, and give me some room for a whole lotta beer :D

At this stage though, I'm just trying to think up some sinister plans for her. I was thinking of taking the roof off too so I can have an open top.. it can get hot in Moab.. who knows what I'll end up doing in the long run, but when I do, I'll be sure to post some pictures of the carnage.
