Drunkard's Wash Grand Prix 3-14-15

I guarantee you will be more tired at the end of that hour than you are at the end of a 4 hour day in Warner Valley

There is something very difficult about riding, as fast as you can, for an hour without stopping.

Riding in the desert/mountains all day, and stopping every 5-10 minutes to shoot the bull with your buddies/have lunch/sit in the shade is an entirely different thing than riding as fast as you can go for even an hour. (then coming out to a national and trying to do it for 3 or 4 or 5 hours).

If anybody was wondering how fast Paul is, it only took him 7 minutes to catch me and I had a minute head start. Not much to brag about but I'm bragging for Paul.

That race was awesome. The track was really fun: I liked all the doubles.
The Joker line through the enduro cross course was really fun too!
I ended up getting 4 laps, so I feel pretty good about that.

I wish I could supply GoPro footage of when I went out on the 3rd loop (my 2nd) but it all ended within the first 3 miles and is not really worth watching.

Paul, I finally got a chance to watch your video. Very impressive, your passing skills and speed "off the main line" are inspiring. I was also impressed with how you kept your momentum through the tight washes and mud. Equally impressive is how quickly you recover from stuff like braking bumps and ruts that upset the bike's balance: I need to practice those skills.

Here is a video a friend of mine made with footage he got with a drone, my GoPro and a video camera.

Well..........just got back from the doctor and it looks like I will not be riding a bike for the remainder of this year. I am being referred to a shoulder specialist to have the piece of bone re-attached that you can see in the picture from my CT. It is not a piece that can be easily attached with the conventional methods since it is kind of flat and broken into 4-5 pieces. I was going to sell my bike at the end of this year to get a new one, but in light of this, I will be putting it on the market now to help cover the medical bills.

:( That sucks Paul... if I/we can do anything to help, don't hesitate to say anything.

I ran my 990 Adventure off a dirt road and into a 2 1/2' bank at 60+ MPH on Sunday and feel VERY lucky that I'm perfectly fine.
