The converter box you get makes a world of difference. My parents are on their third one already trying to get it to work, and the ones they picked up tonight work perfect. I will find out the brands they have already tried and post up.

That would be good cause I still need 1 more and don't want anymore of the crappy RCA.

There are people out there getting better signal out of a set of coat hangers then they are buying a fancy antenna.

Do a google search for homemade HD antenna . You will find guys building antennas for 2 bucks and some coat hangers and getting perfect signal.

Insignia and Zenith brands work good.

Philco and RCA work bad.

That was my experience helping with the parents set up. Their first two converter boxes did not work well, then upgraded to a new antenna and things worked margenly better. If they tried to split the antenna into two TV's it would lose signal to the point where only one or two channels would come in right. They changed to an Insignia box and everything works great, with the old antenna, even splitting the signal
