I run air lockers front and rear in my CJ7. The only problem that i have had is that sometimes when the rear end is cold it does not fully engaged. Everybody says that should not happen.

e-locker but they only warranty if your running stock size tires on your rig.

This is what I was just going to say.... That said though, I haven't seen many go back for warranty. Lot more Detroit's than E Locker's.....

Yukon Zip Locker get's my vote, though...

I didn't post that video to bash any product brand, just funny when I enter in Yukon Zip that is the first post on Google..

Bottom line is, there are products that have been on the market for a very long time and have had great success. Many years ago I ran ARB's and they leaked. Since then I believe they have improved.

Now, the price of an ARB has also changed... and might I add +++++ wow.

why would yukon send ARB their product then? I'm trying to make sense of it.
Because they designed a similiar air actuated locker and wanted full disclosure with ARB. At the tiem, they were ARB's largest distributor. ARB instantly pulled their dealership, even though Randy's wanted to carry them still. Detroit had no issues and neither has Richmond with their Lockright - in fact, Randy's still sells more Lockright's than Spartan's and their sales on Lockright's have not dropped since selling the Spartan.

ARB also offered me an ultimatium - stop selling Yukon or loose your ARB dealership. You can tell I have not stopped selling Yukon.... They made my life hell for the next year? and then after Tyler purchased AllJeep, would not transfer the contract and bad mouthed me personally to him.

All of which I find very childish.... ARB needs to grow up. I've already pulled my front ARB and traded it to a buddy for a Detroit. When the Yukon D60 Zip Locker comes out, the rear ARB will be history as well.

I know.. Just giving you their side. The cost is why Yukon came out with the Zip Locker. They believe there is no reason that an ARB should cost what it does; materials and etc don't dictate it, so they came out with the Zip Locker.

Interesting take. During my tour of ARB's R&D facility in Melbourne last year I was able to see various 'similar' lockers that ARB was testing. The ones I saw had no 'design', rather they had some reverse engineering and as I was told none were donated to them to size up the competition, they purchased them through one of there dealers in the US. The US is ~5% of ARB's volume, while I know RRP was a bigger customer they are still small on the international market and I respect ARB's posture not to support a company that is going to carbon copy their older designs under their own house name. Right, wrong or ethical aside, they want to protect their product line, name and standing and allowing a company to continue to sell their ARB compressors along with the knock-off lockers is not a wise business practice imo. Too boot its my understanding there is some current legal litigation ongoing with the the actual overseas manufacture of the knock-off locker resulting from them using ARB's part numbers.

Not my take, it's fact. At the time of the test, the Zip Locker wasn't even being produced.

Have you seen this?

I'm not saying that ARB's locker sucks. I'm saying their business practices are sketchy. They should buy one of the production units and weblog that test. They won't. Why? Afraid to prove that the Zip Locker is just as strong as an ARB, but at a huge fraction of the cost??

Yukon has never used ARB's part numbers on their own compenents. Yukon has always used COMxxxxx to designate component part numbers.

I got one of the first production Zip Lockers to do a write up

Part way down you can see the part number on the pinion gear.

So Wayne, if Jeeperman made an ARB bumper clone would you send it to them or any other competitor for "full disclosure"??? That makes zero sense. ARB knew what the design was, it was there older modeling.

Thr part number fiasco was with one of the overseas manufactures, not the US importer/distributor. It's my understanding that Yukon does not manufacture the parts or did not at first. Reward ingenuity, not duplicity. ARB in Aussie is very protective of their branding and intellects from concept right down to their dealers, I applaud what has proven to ne a very successful business practice for all parties.

But that's what Randy did....At the time they had full respect of ARB. ARB quickly lost it with their petiness.

If they are so protective, then there should be a law suit in place with Yukon, et all. Is there? After all, they did 'steal' their design.

That said, it's just like gasoline or car or milk or bread or many of the other like items for sale.

Dunno.... You're very pro ARB and I'm very pro Yukon. ARB probably treats you the same way Yukon does me. As such neither of us will change the other's mind.

Milk and air locker clones, lol pretty similar there. Respect is copying a product and sending them one? I have much to learn in this business apparently. Your right that we have our obvious allegiances and from there we can agree to disagree.

Ok, looks like I have started a pissing war. Well I tell you what, I'm going to settle this once and for all. Kurt, send me a D44 ARB for my rear. Wayne you send me a Zip for the front D30.

I'll test them out over the next few years and report back on which one proves to be better. Extra credit will be given out to the one that produces ther locker the quickest.

Please PM me for my mailing address.

Thanks,
