Easy Scenic Moab Trails

My wife is running the USA Trail championships half marathon in Moab this weekend. We are taking my '13 Tundra down and would like to get out in it. Not looking for damage but also not looking for gravel graded roads. Just want to get out and explore with the wife and kid. I don't have a crawler this year for the harder trails. But I will be taking my KTM for some fun.

Seven Mile rim with Tusher tunnel thrown in come to mind. Lots of sand and scenery. Gemini Bridges/Bull canyon if you haven't been out to them in a while.

I keep hearing about Long Canyon but I haven't done it.

I recommend schaefer switchbacks (in island in the sky) to potash rd. Very beautiful drive.

Get the wells book, he has lots of easy routes listed in it.

Mill Canyon Road to Tusher Tunnel and up Bartlet Wash to Dubinky Well Road and Hwy 313. Then, take Long Canyon to SR 279 and Moab.

Drive up Onion Creek, take Hideout Road to the La Sals and drive back down to Castle Valley... awesome loop with amazing changes in scenery. You will probably need 4WD, but nothing crazy.

I don't mind using 4wd. I prefer it. But just don't think the tundra is too capable because of size. I will have to check a few of these out.

Another vote for Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon, then back on the Shafer Trail. It is a pretty drive, nothing challenging, and lots of fun.

It is the better part of a day to do the whole loop. The Gemini Bridges road it on the west side of the highway, just north of Arches NP(before you go down the hill to Moab). The Shafer trail starts in Canyonlands Island in the sky district. If you only have half a day, I would do the shafer trail. It is very scenic.

Long canyon is the trail ya drive under the rock. The truck should be doable going under that if it isn't lifted (sky high).
Its close to Gemini bridges . If ya take hwy 313 you can hit Gemini bridges then go back to 313 , then figure out wich trail ya wanna take back to potash road. Both long canyon and shafer will take ya down to potash . All 3 are in the same area so your not going back and forth acccross the city .

You've gotta get the wells book, it has every trail mentioned here, GPS coords, and maps. It's super easy to navigate even the trails you've never been on. He also ranks all the trails from easiest to hardest, so you'll have an idea of what to expect compared to a trail you've done before.
